Review

This is the perfect story for this time of year. What woman doesn't love a story about Christmas-time, cheesecake (and other wonderful sweets), and a woman trying to get to the bottom of a rivalry that is threatening to destroy a family's livelihood? It definitely tickled my fancy.

Caeleah is just having the worst time finding a job. Even flying out of state for an interview, she knows that the job isn't going to come her way. Wallowing in a disgusting piece of gift store cheesecake, she runs into an unusual woman. After telling the woman about her life, including the fact that she's a food writer, things take an interesting twist. The woman switches plane tickets and sends her to a little town in Colorado that she's never heard of to meet and write about the Cheesecake Queen.

From the moment she steps into the town, she knew that there was something different about the town. Man, was she underestimating the place? The Cheesecake Queen has the best cheesecake in town - both of her sisters have their own bakeries in town too - and they hold the monopoly on sweet. The cheesecake is to die for - and works wonders for the people eating it. - Can I please have some?

Things get tense when she finds out the mayor is trying to ruin the Sugar sisters' businesses by imposing a "healthy living" lifestyle on the town. Caeleah is the first to fight to find out why he is so against the sisters. She becomes a woman on a mission to get behind the secrets of these three women.

It's a sweet story - so sweet that it'll have your sweet tooth begging for mercy. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good read this holiday, or really anytime of year.
